We agree with you – a bad day diving is still better than a good day in the office doing marketing work…
…but if you’re a dive shop in Belize, it can’t hurt to step up your online marketing game. Here are a few quick and easy digital marketing tips for Belize dive shops that you can implement right away:
1. Content is king, so share…share…share. The good thing about the dive industry is that it is highly visual. The human brain loves the sea, and we are drawn to pictures of it. The world wants to see what you find underwater, so use social media to share photos and videos. Be sure to post high quality imagery for maximum engagement.
2. Create a Blog. Sharing engaging content by utilizing a blog on your website is the best way to get your audience to visit your website. You can use a blog to write short accounts of what happened on your dive trip, or short descriptions of the photos and videos that you share. This of course helps with search engine ranking, and people can find you more easily. Engage with your audience by posting fresh, valuable content, consistently…and in the SCUBA world, there’s always a great experience to talk about.
3. Use relevant and popular hashtags. Instagram is a must for dive shops. Search your top 10 hashtags before you start posting. When you post your photo or video on Instagram, write an interesting caption with relevant hashtags to increase your reach. Algorithms change often, but it is generally accepted that you can use up to 10 hashtags before you see a dip in engagement on Instagram. It is much less for other channels, like Facebook and Twitter, so don’t overuse hashtags, instead, be clever.
4. Update your website and utilize online reviews. Be sure that your website has all your relevant up-to-date information. Your dive shop and your dive services are outstanding, so make sure your website reflects that. Be sure to ask for reviews from your happy customers. Online review sites, like TripAdvisor, are so important for your business. You can place links to your TripAdvisor page on your website.
